The Nazi Transocean news agency reports today that 200 Jews have been arrested in Bucharest during the past few days on charges that they tried to avoid forced labor.
In Budapest thirty-four Hungarians were arrested this week for harboring Jews who had allegedly entered the country illegally, the Nazis newspaper Donau Zeitung reports, adding that they were all sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
In Bulgaria, the Commissariate for Jewish Affairs started auctioning off shares in non-Jewish firms belonging to Jews. Auction lists have been posted through out Sofia naming the concerns which were partly controlled by Jews and announcing the dates when the Jewish-owned shares will be put up for public sale.
