More than 2,000 Jews have moved out of their homes in the old native section of Casablanca as a result of the continued clashes between Moslem Nationalists and the French administration. Moslem extremists consider the Jews pro-French and are making the old quarter of the city unsafe for Jewish life and business.

Although leaders of the Moroccan Nationalists continue to assure the Jews that the demonstrations in Morocco are directed only against the French, it has become clear that the demonstrations are taking an anti-Jewish turn. Young Moroccans roam the streets of the old native quarter here shouting anti-French slogans, but at the same time they also attack and loot Jewish stores.
