A meeting of Germans and Jews was held here yesterday to protest the mild sentences imposed on two former storm troopers convicted of having murdered a Jew during the November, 1938, pogroms in Germany. The demonstration was called by German left-wing parties in the British zone and the Jewish community of Bremen.
Although the sponsors had expected 30,000 persons to participate, only 2,000 Germans turned out. Speakers condemned the German courts as still being in the hands of Nazis and demanded the death sentence for the two convicted storm troopers and another 20 awaiting trial on similar charges.
