The Government today issued the first allotment of 2,000 certificates to the Jewish Agency for Palestine under the 4,500-certificate labor immigration schedule for the next half year.
The permits were issued on condition that 1,500 be given to chalutzim (young pioneers), 300 to relatives of Palestinian residents, 125 to experts, 75 to professionals. The remainder of the certificates will not be issued before the middle of July.
