Nearly 2,000 Jewish educational, cultural, religious, fraternal, women’s and recreational organizations throughout the country are participating this year in the 18th nationwide observance of Jewish Music Festival, it was announced here today by Rabbi Ario S. Hyams, chairman of the National Jewish Welfare Board’s Jewish Music Council. The festival, launched last weekend, will continue until the middle of February.
This year’s festival, Rabbi Hyams said, is devoted to the works of the late Isadore Freed, composer, teacher and conductor. Among the features of the festival are two coast-to-coast radio programs scheduled by the ABC and CBS radio networks.
