Twenty thousand Jewish young men of the province of Bessarabia who had availed themselves of the provisions of the Paris Agreement have decided to apply for the rescinding of their former decision. According to the Paris Agreement the in habitants of Bessarabia who refused to become Roumanian citizens had the right to abide by their decision, but had to leave the country a year from the date when they officially notified their refusal. Several thousand of these young men held a meeting here under the chairmanship of the former Kishinev Prefect, Advocate Oprea. The meeting elected a special committee for the purpose of approaching the Roumanian Government with the request to grant a three-months’ period during which all the young men who had refused to become citizens should be allowed to apply for Roumanian citizenship.
