Lord Hailey, chairman of the Refugees Coordination Committee, declared in a radio address tonight that since 1935 a total of 160,000 emigres had left Germany. Of this number Britain admitted 20,000, of whom 6,000 subsequently left for other countries. The British Home Office has simplified the rules of admission, the Peer said, but continues to demand proof that the immigrants will not become state charges.
