The Negev Water Project, designed to supply water for drinking and irrigation purposes to settlements in Israel’s southern desert region, is now supplying 35,000,000 cubic meters of water annually to these settlements, N. Lifshits, manager of the project, reported today. He revealed that 800,000 dunams (200,000 acres) are being irrigated in the Negev by the Mekroth Water Company and the project.
