Two hundred thousand adherents of the Rexist Party, Belgium’s most militant, Fascist-inclined political faction, are organizing to march on Brussels this Sunday, the Havas News Agency said it learned today.
Coincidental with the Rexist march, the Socialists will hold a huge meeting in the capital. The danger of serious clashes between the two diametrically-opposed factions threw Brussels into a turmoil today.
Premier Paul van Zeeland’s cabinet was immediately convoked in extraordinary session to consider banning both demonstrations.
The Rexists, who have shown definite anti-Jewish tendencies, have been ordered to assemble at the estate of Count Egrunne, one of Leon Degrelle’s titled followers.
