A comprehensive reconstruction program designed to aid the Jews of Czechoslovakia reintegrate themselves into the economic life of their communities is being undertaken by the J.D.C., it was announced yesterday. One of the major aspects of the program will be the establishment of two loan cooperatives, one in Prague and the other in Bratislava. The Finance Ministry of the Czechoslovakian Government has just given its permission for the opening of these cooperatives.
When the full program is in operation, the JDC said, it will be spending more than $200,000 in Czechoslovakia to finance trade and professional groups and to extend loans to organizations and individuals desiring to establish themselves in business. Much of this money will also be used for a vocational training program to train skilled workers for the country’s industrial and agricultural communities.
