A committee headed by Senator Justin Godart has decided to seek $200,000 within the next six months to finance activities of the OSE, Jewish organization for health maintenance, in Rumania, and the TOZ, its sister organization in Poland.
The necessity of extending the child care work of the two organizations this year was stressed at a meeting of the committee. The funds will be used to provide medical and sanitary assistance and free meals to 70,000 children in Poland and Rumania.
The organizations are now feeding 50,000, with the assistance of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and other organizations. The committee, which was established a year ago by the World Ose Union, will ask the support of French Jews in its work.
