A total of $1,918,243 has been received by the ##ited Jewish Welfare Fund here from 726 pre-campaign contributors in advance of the official opening of the current drive of the Fund, it was reported by Oscar S. Pattiz, general chairman of the U.J.W.F.
Mr. Pattiz noted that this sum is the largest amount ever raised in the Los Angeles area in any humanitarian cause prior to the launching of a regular campaign. ## Los Angeles drive will open officially this week, Mr. Pattiz said, adding that ## United Jewish Welfare Fund expects to raise $11,620,000 in its current effort.
