Ninety-five percent, of the pupils of the Jewish high school at Grosswardein (Oradeamare) failed in their examinations before the Roumanian School Board. The high school has 215 pupils; 205 were declared by the Roumanian committee to have flunked in the examinations.
The mass failure of the pupils has caused great depression in many Jewish families of the city, the despairing youths threatening to commit suicide. The parents are compelled to neglect their business to set watch over their children to prevent any desperate action.
