About 2,200 young Baptists from 70 countries toured Israel today, comprising the largest group of Christian pilgrims ever to visit Israel. The visitors, ranging in age from 17 to 25, are making a Holy Land pilgrimage organized in connection with the Baptist Youth World Conference, being held in Beirut, Lebanon.
Early today, three sunrise services were conducted for the pilgrims on the shores of Lake Tiberias. The services consisted of the reading of the Sermon on the Mount, hymn singing and meditative prayers.
