A group of 223 Yemenite Jews landed here today and was admitted on 100 certificates sent by the Jewish Agency for Palestine. The certificates were issued both to individuals and families.
The Yemenite Jews told stories of the incredible hardships they had experienced before reaching Palestine. In Yemen Jews are severely persecuted. The group was compelled to make an extra long journey because the British territory of Aden refuses to allow Yemenites entrance to the port even on a ship bound for Palestine.
