During the past two years $2,230,000 was spent for the settlement of German Jews in Palestine, it was announced today by the United Palestine Appeal. Since 1933 a total of 42,500 Jews from Germany have been settled in Palestine. Of the total of $2,230,000, the sum of $1,060,000 was used for the settlement of new immigrants in existing agricultural settlements established during the past twenty years by the Palestine Foundation Fund.
To aid in the establishment and defense of Hannuta, the newest Jewish settlement in northern Palestine rising close to the Syrian border, Hadassah has sent $5,000 to the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem. The gift is outside the budgetary commitments of the organization for those projects which it is pledged to maintain and support.
