233-year-old Synagogue from German Village Loaned to Israel Museum in Jerusalem

The 233-year-old synagogue from the village of Horb in Germany, on loan to the Israel Museum, was unveiled here by Mayor Teddy Kollek, chairman of the Israel Museum’s board of directors. The ancient synagogue, made of painted wooden boards had been donated to the town of Bamberg in Germany with the stipulation that it never be sold.
