Some 250 young Israelis will participate in the World Youth Festival in Moscow next July, left-wing organizations here decided today. They will be going in three distinct groups: Communist, Achdut Avodah and a combined unit from the several Mapam factions. Among the various groups will be dancing troupes including an Arab group, musical bands and sports teams.
Israel Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog cabled greetings today to Rabbi M. Levin who has been named to succeed the late Solomon Schlieffer as Chief Rabbi of Moscow. Rabbi Herzog sent the “blessings of the Torah and the Land of Israel” on the occasion of Rabbi Levin’s appointment.
A complete set of stamps issued in Israel’s nine-year history will be exhibited in Moscow at a philatelic exhibition in July, the Post Office announced today. It revealed that an invitation to exhibit at a forthcoming international stamp conference here was handed to the Moscow Post Office.
