En Route to England and freedom, a trainload of 250 Jewish children arrived here this morning from Berlin and other points in Germany. The group is the third contingent of 5,000 children being admitted to England for temporary refuge pending ultimate resettlement in other overseas countries.
About 100 of the group boarded the train at Berlin. The fathers of many were in concentration camps while others had been deported to Poland. One child said his father was in prison, his mother en route to Chile, his sister in Palestine and he had no idea where he him self would eventually wind up. Additional groups were picked up at Hanover and Osnabrueck. Included in the contingent were 165 German-born children, 60 born in Poland and 37 who were classed as “stateless.”
