B’nai B’rith has sent $2,500 for the direct relief of the hundreds of victims of the Southern California earthquake. The money was forwarded by National Headquarters of the Order here shortly after newspaper dispatches told of the disaster. It was used for food, shelter, and clothing for those whose belongings were swept away by the quake.
The money was appropriated from the B’nai B’rith Emergency Relief Fund which, in its more than 25 years of existence, has sent hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims of earthquakes, floods, fires, pogroms, and other major disasters in all parts of the world.
