More than 25,000 tickets have been sold during the first week of the campaign for Jewish Day at the Century of Progress, to be presented late in July and featuring the gigantic spectacle in Soldier Field, the “Epic of a Nation,” according to I. B. Ury, chairman of the Jewish Day Committee.
Associated in the project will be Josef Cherniavsky, conductor of the Chicago Theatre orchestra and authority on Hebrew music and folklore. Blake Scott, who has been associated with the New York Civic Repertory, the Ravinia Opera Company, the Chicago Symphony orchestra and other prominent organizations, will be associated with Mr. Cherniavsky on the directing staff for Jewish Day.
