Indisputably the most urgent Jewish problem in Eastern Europe today is the future of some 25,000 Jewish refugees from Russia and Ukraine who, in accordance with the Polish Government ordinance, are to be expelled March 1. All Jewish organizations here are considering measures and trying in some way to arrange for the disposal of these homeless wanderers.
The sum of £50,000 it is estimated, will be necessary to provide fares and necessities, if a refuge is found somewhere. It is considered probable that a few thousands will go to Palestine. Jews here look to the Jewish Colonization Association, the Ukrainian Federation and the Joint Distribution Committee to help solve this pressing problem. The Jewish World Relief Conference of Paris has contributed out of its meagre resources the sum of $2,500.
