A campaign for $250,000, most of which will be used to aid the Polish Jews, was decided upon today by 1,700 delegates of more than 300 organizations with a constituency estimated at more than 500,000 attending a conference under the auspices of the Jewish Labor Committee at the Center Hotel.
The fund will be used to strengthen the Polish Jews economically and politically, and also for such purposes as pressing the anti-Nazi boycott. A resolution was adopted for intensification of the boycott. Another expressed gratitude to Polish organized labor for its support of the Jews.
Prof. Albert Einstein spoke briefly praising the work of the committee. He said that his work was an “intellectual luxury” while the committee was working for the benefit of humanity. Other speakers included David Dubinsky, Adolph Held and B.C. Vladeck, who presided.
