A campaign to raise $2,500,000 as metropolitan New York’s share of the $5,500,000 national goal of the American Committee for the Hebrew University, Weizmann Institute of Science, and Technion (U.I.T.) was launched at a luncheon meeting of community and business leaders at the Hotel Astor. Abraham Feinberg, industrial and philanthropic leader, was named chairman of the New York effort. Community leaders present accepted assignment for the drive which will reach its climax at a $500-a-plate dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria on November 29.
