More than 2,500,000 pounds of food, clothing and other relief supplies have been collected in the Fall Campaign of the SOS Collection of the Joint Distribution Committee, it was announced today by Mrs. Isaac Gilman, national SOS co-chairman. The special drive for 6,000,000 pounds of relief supplies to tide Europe’s needy Jews through the critical winter months began on September 25 and will continue through December. December drives in the 850 communities cooperating in the SOS drive, Mrs. Gilman stated, will be asked to concentrate on trade and industry collections of surplus materials, samples, rejects and other shopworn goods.
