2,620 Jewish Immigrants Enter United States in Four Months

Ninety thousand two hundred and ninety-four immigrants entered the United States in the period, July to October, 1924; 62,957 non-immigrants entered, according to a report of the Bureau of Immigration, Washington. During the same period 34,738 emigrants left the country and 57,132 non-emigrants departed.

Eight thousand seven hundred and seventy-three aliens were debarred and 2,899 were deported. Of this number, 260 persons were deported because they were without proper visas under the act of 1924.

During the same period, 2,620 Jewish immigrants entered the country.

Of the 34,700 annual quota for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, 24,970 immigrants have entered the country up to October. Of the 51,227 annual quota for Germany, 14,512 entered. Four hundred and one of Hungary’s quota of 473 has been used. Of the 5,982 annual quota for Poland, 1,650 were admitted. Of the 2,248 annual quota for European and Asiatic Russia, 1,255 were admitted during the period. Out of the quota of 602 for Roumania, 515 have entered. The quotas for Palestine and Lithuania have been exhausted.
