Twenty-seven Jews, detained here for several months as illegal immigrants, were freed last night on order of President Juan Peron.
The section followed Peron’s promise to this effect to a delegation of the DAIA, central representative body of the Jews of Argentina, and the pro-Peronist Israelite Argentina. Some sections of the Jewish press and some circles in the Jewish community believe that Peron’s latest act may indicate a change in attitude on the part of the government toward the problem of Jewish immigrant.
