A total of 27,193 Jews entered Palestine in the calendar year 1939, it was announced today by the United Palestine Appeal. Of this number, 8050 entered between Sept. 3 and Dec. 31.
A breakdown of the figures shows that 16,370 of the immigrants came in on certificates provided by the Palestine Government to the Jewish Agency for Palestine. The balance of the immigrants, numbering 10,823, constituted refugees who entered the country without certificates.
