Expenditures of $28,405,000 in Palestine for colonization activities during the past sixteen years by the Palestine Foundation Fund were reported last night at the annual meeting of the American Palestine Campaign at the Hotel Astor.
The United Palestine Appeal, which comprises the A.P.C. and the Jewish National Fund, has raised $1,779,454 between Jan. 1 and Oct.15, 1936, it was announced. This included sums raised by Hadassah for the Youth Aliyah, but did not include the Zionists’ share of the $75,000 raised through the “Night of Stars” performance at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night.
Officers of the Palestine campaign pledged an enlarged program of activity for Jewish settlement during 1937 so that there might be no retreat from the Jewish position in the Holy Land.
