A petition, signed by 282 professors of 83 leading American universities and colleges, asking President Roosevelt to do everything in his power to rescue the Jews in Nazi Europe, was submitted to him today.
The petition also urges the President to find a way of warning each German that the German people will be held responsible for generations if the present Nazi massacres of Jews continue. The Yiddish Scientific Institute in New York collected the signatures for the petition.
