Yosef Tekoah, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, told an audience of more than 1,100 persons attending an Israel Bond Organization dinner here last night that “Today, if not for the existence of Israel, the Middle East would have been lost to the free world.” He declared that “we face a fight which will determine whether we shall exist and how we shall survive,” and expressed hope that the 1970’s “will be a decade of deliverance of Soviet Jews.” A spokesman for the Israel Bond Organization reported that $2 million in Israel bonds was sold at last night’s dinner. The occasion was to pay tribute to key leaders of Daylin, Inc. Helen Lee, Arnold Siegel and Bernard Marcus were the recipients of the Tower of David Award of the Israel Bond Organization. Daylin, Inc. will sponsor another Israel Bonds dinner on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
