Israeli Air Force jets attacked Syrian military targets for about a half hour this morning and returned safely to their bases. Artillery and tank fire exchanges continued all along the Syrian front today on the eve of U.S. Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger’s arrival in Jerusalem to try to work out an Israeli-Syrian disengagement agreement. Three Israeli soldiers were wounded by Syrian fire.

A military spokesman said Israeli warplanes strafed Syrian positions in the northern sector of the Yom Kippur War enclave and bombed Syrian tank concentrations, artillery batteries and missile bases. An Israeli patrol clashed with Syrian forces east of the Yom Kippur War enclave last night killing two Syrian soldiers without suffering any casualties. According to a military spokesman the clash was the first to occur behind the Oct. cease-fire lines.

Ramat Magshishim and Moshav Nov, both on the Golan Heights, came under Syrian shell fire this afternoon but no casualties were reported. Israeli artillery returned the fire.
