Three more persons were arrested, charged with complicity in the bombing Sunday morning of the home of Joseph Hasenfratz. Brownsville kosher poultry dealer. The three are Joe Weiner. Charles Herbert and Arthur Herbert. They denied complicity in or knowledge of the bombing ascribed to warring poultry factions.
This brings the number of men arrested in the bombing to five. David Dickman who was arrested last Monday, was arraigned befor Magistrate Brown in the New Jersey Avenue Court. Dickman entered a plea of not guilty. Magistrate Brown set bail at $10,000 and Aug. 30 as a date for further hearing.
David Hirshon, President of the Greater New York Live Poultry Chamber of Commerce was scheduled for a hearing in two courts on Friday as were Weiner and the Herbert brothers. Hirshon is being held without bail in the Liberty Avenue Police Station.
He, Weiner, the Herbert brothers and sixty-seven others are also scheduled for an appearance before Judge Mack in the Federal Building on a charge of violating and conspiring to violate the Sherman act. Weiner and Charles Herbert are under bonds of $3.500 and Arthur Herbert is bonded for $2,500 on this charge.
