The three principal South American powers–the Argentine, Brazil and Chile–have agreed on a common policy to combat Nazi influence, it was reported today by the Argentine Tageblatt, liberal German newspaper.
Quoting authoritative sources, the paper said the policy was agreed upon by the foreign ministers of the three nations. The same sources revealed that the Argentine Foreign Minister, Jose Maria Cantilo, had conferred with German Ambassador Baron Edmund von Thermann, asking him to dissolve all Nazi organizations in the Argentine and to halt their political activities.
The reports coincided with issuance of a decree by President Roberto Ortiz placing all schools operated by foreign organizations under Government supervision. The decree followed an investigation which had disclosed that Nazi organizations were conducting schools for German children contrary to Argentine education laws.
