Three hundred persons today attended memorial services for Dr. Theodor Herzl, founder of political Zionism, held under the auspices of the New Zionist Organization at the grave of Jacob de Haas, his collaborator. It was decided to hold similar services annually at the De Haas grave, in the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue cemetery at Cypress Hills, L.I., as long as Dr. Herzl’s remains are in Vienna, where services have been prohibited by the Nazi authorities. Speakers included Dr. Louis I. Newman, Prof. Benjamin Akzin, Dr. Morris Rose, and Mr. Moshe ben Ami, of Palestine. Memorial prayers were chanted by Cantor Samuel Vigoda.
