Domestic positions for 300 Czech Jewish refugees have been obtained by the Self-Aid Association of Jews From Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia, it was announced at the organization’s first annual meeting.
The association, which numbers 700 members and is one of the strongest refugee organizations in England, has also brought 40 children to England in the past four months and has provided jobs and permits for 40 persons in training. A self-aid home opened by the organization in December has been visited by more than 2,500 persons.
Dr. Leo Hermann was re-elected chairman of the association. Together with other groups, the association has formed a Joint Committee of Jews from Czechoslovakia, under the chairmanship of Dr. Emil Kafka, former president of the Prague Jewish Community.
