Although the Joint Distribution Committee’s “Operation Magic Carpet” ended here Sunday night with the arrival of the last 177 of some 15,000 Yemenite Jews who entered Israel in the last two years, a small staff provided by the Jewish Agency will continue to operate a small camp in Aden for any of the Jews still in Yemen who want to come to the Jewish state.
It is estimated that there are still some 3,000 Jews in that small Arab kingdom. Any Jews who make their way out of Yemen will be kept and cared for at the Hashed Camp in Aden until there is a party sufficiently large to warrant their being flown out.
