Nearly 3,000 workers’ families have been transferred to agriculture under the Histadrut’s “Town to Country” drive, which was initiated last year, it was announced here today at a session of the Histadrut executive.
Nearly half the families, 1,200, settled in smallholders settlements. Smaller numbers settled in settlements conducted by the various religious movements or the General Zionist-affiliated settlement movement.
