Pledges amonnting to $250,000 for the purchase of land in Palestine were made here yesterday at a city-wide conference of the Jewish National Fund, attended by 1,500 delegates.
Earlier in the week, a similar parley in San Francisco, attended by 600 Jewish leaders, raised $50, 000 in pledges. The featured speaker at both rallies was Mendel N. Fisher, national director of the J.N.F.
