The list of sponsoring Representatives climbed towards more than three-fourths of the total House membership today on the resolution condemning the action by the United Nations Third Committee that equated Zionism with racism. The prime sponsors of the resolution in the House said late today that 314 of 435 Representatives had signed the condemnation and many others were indicating they would be sponsors, too. Those signing come from 46 of the 50 states and also from Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
Meanwhile, the Senate had before it an identical resolution that was introduced yesterday by Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey (D. Minn.) with Sen. William Brook (R. Tenn). A dozen other Senators have sponsored it.
