Of 410 persons detained by the police on the charge of participating in the unauthorized demonstration on Monday in front of the Parliament building, approximately 85 were released today.
The remainder are now held in the Jalameh detention center and in the local police stations in Jerusalem and Ramleh. The Ministry of Justice said today that it will “mobilize” magistrates for the speedy handling of the charges in order to avoid lengthy detention of innocents persons.
Some of the Israeli daily newspapers today reported that government circles are considering declaring the Herut Party illegal. No confirmation of this report came from any government source.
