Official figures of the number of apostates for the period of January 1 to March 7 show 327 Jews abandoned their faith for Christianity. During the same period 12,096 Roman Catholics deserted their fold. The total number of apostates during the period was 13,000. Most of the Jewish apostates professed themselves “confessionslos” or without religion at the time of their baptism.
