33 Israeli Firms Participating in International Trade Fair in Greece

Greek Prime Minister George Papadopoulos opened yesterday the Israeli stand at the 36th international trade fair of Thessaloniki and expressed his “admiration for the progress achieved by Israel in the field of industry.” Some 33 Israeli firms are participating this year in the exhibit at the Israeli stand which is managed by Amnon Kotler of the Israeli Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Israeli-Greek trade is moving fast. Last year’s exports from Israel to Greece amounted to products worth $17 million, while Israel imported $4 million worth of Greek goods. Israel exports to Greece, among other items, raw materials, industrial tools, bananas, soya and chemical products. Itzhak Azouri, commercial attache at the Israeli diplomatic representation, said here that the Thessaloniki fair is an important element in the betterment of trade relations between the two countries. Israel expects further development in its trade with Greece next year. Azouri said.
