Thirty-eight Jewish refugee children from France, whose parents were deported to Poland by the Nazis last summer, arrived here today aboard the Portuguese steamer Serpa Pinto which travelled under safe-conduct guarantees from both Washington and Berlin. Also aboard the Serpa Pinto are about 150 adults, many of them Jewish refugees from Nazi-held countries. It is expected that the passengers will be delayed on the vessel for a day or more until they are cleared by the various government investigating agencies.
