A new record in American Jewry’s participation in the combined campaign of the United Jewish Appeal for Refugees, Overseas Needs and Palestine was established this year as3,975 communities made contributions to the war needs of the Joint Distribution Committee, United Palestine Appeal and National Refugee Service, the headquarters of the U.J.A. reported today. This figure represents the largest number of communities ever to have participated in the United Jewish Appeal campaign since its inception in 1939.
