A conference of Jewish cultural workers representing the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago, will be held here ###nday for the purpose of estab##hing a Yiddish publishing house to publish the works of Jewish authors and promote Jewish education in America.
The conference will be addressed by Chaim Greenberg, one of the outstanding Jewish cultural leaders in America. A plan to publish a bi-monthly magazine in Yiddish, to resemble the Atlantic Monthly, will also be discussed at the conference.
The conference is sponsored by a group interested in furthering Yiddish culture in America. The new publishing house will be established on a share holding basis under the name “Auflebung.” The projected magazine will carry the same name.
According to an announcement issued here today, $6,000 has already been subscribed by Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Chicago towards the enterprise. This sum is twenty-five per cent of the capital required.
