The new Municipal council to be appointed by the government will include four and possibly five Jewish councillors out of a total of twenty-four councillors, it was learned here today.
The Lodz Municipal Council was officially dissolved July 2 when Minister of the Interior Koscial-kowski issued an order to that effect.
The Lodz Municipal Council had consisted of a majority of anti-Semitic National Democratic (Endek) councillors, who opposed the present regime in Poland, and who on May 29 launched an attack on the Jewish councillors in the Lodz council, seriously wounding several of them.
