4 Revisionists Found Guilty of Sedition

Aba Achimeier and three of his Revisionist co-defendants, charged with sedition and accused of advocating and encouraging the overthrow of the Palestine government by force and violence, were found guilty today in Jaffa District Court.

Achimeier, recently acquitted of charges of complicity in the Arlosoroff murder, was sentenced to twenty-one months imprisonment at hard labor. The judge explained this leniency and the granting of a minimum sentence on the grounds that Achimeier had already been jailed for some time. Haim Dviri was sentenced to fifteen months at hard labor and Jacob Orenstein and Yeoshua Lichter respectively to nine and three months sentences of ordinary imprisonment.

The verdict in the case of Dr. H. Yeiven, Revisionist editor, was postponed until next week in view of Yeiven’s illness. The postponement seems to be indicative of the finding of a guilty verdict against the editor. Charges had previously been dropped in the case of Josef Katznelson after presentation of
