Four hundred South African Jews have settled in Israel in the past 18 months, Z. Segal, chairman of the immigration department of the South African Zionist Federation, reported here last night.
Speaking at the same meeting, D.J. Vainstein, deputy director of the Jewish Agency immigration department, outlined Israel’s immigration problems and made an appeal for the immigration of skilled personnel from English-speaking countries.
