The prediction that all Jews in Holland will be deported by the Nazi occupation authorities to Poland is made here today in the “Voice of Netherland,” a weekly newspaper published by the Dutch Government-in-Exile.
Estimating that “about 4,000 young Jews have already been worked to death in the mines of Yugoslavia,” the paper reports that able-bodied Jews in Holland are being picked up on the streets by the Nazi occupation authorities and deported to concentration camps from where they are sent to dangerous forced labor. The paper also states that the Jewish birthrate in Holland has dropped fifty percent since the Nazi occupation.
Reviewing the anti-Jewish restrictions which the Nazis introduced in Holland, the Dutch publication says that the Jews are literally not allowed to earn a livelihood. If not for the friendly attitude of the Dutch population, starvation and mortality among the Jews would have reached very high proportions, the article points out. It relates how Dutch butchers are supporting Jewish butchers in Amsterdam who have been prohibited from entering slaughter houses and reveals that non-Jewish doctors in Holland are voluntarily passing on to their Jewish colleagues the fees which they receive from Jewish patients and how Dutch lawyers are doing the same with renumeration which they get from Jewish clients.
